Work Flow and File Structure/ Edit Prep

As the editor I wanted to make my job and the work flow as easy and smooth as possible. I read many blogs online especially by Tom Welsh of GetDeluxe on work flow and organisation. I felt this was key to a stress free and quality edit.

As soon as I had backed up the footage I put time aside to labelling and organising footage. I organised them into the different locations and times of day and whether they were interior or exterior.
I followed the same process in Final Cut by creating Bins of my footage to make the process organised.
